The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is likely to accept a request from the state home department to temporarily accommodate CISF personnel being deployed as part of the Z-plus security ring for RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat in a school run by the municipal body.
The school, located in the Untkhana area, about 3 km from the RSS headquarters here, is spread over a large area and imparts education from Class 1 to Class 12.
“The NMC received the request from the state home department that the school be provided for temporary accommodation for the securitymen. The municipal commissioner has agreed to it subject to approval by NMC general body. The proposal would be put before the body on July 20 for approval,” said Dayashankar Tiwari, leader of the ruling party in NMC. The NMC is ruled by the BJP.
Asked how a school could be used for the purpose, Tiwari said, “The school has large area and very few students and can have space for the securitymen. And this is proposed to be a temporary arrangement as quarters are already under construction for the security personnel.”
Asked if the proposal was being readily accepted as the security was for the RSS chief, Tiwari said, “That it is for RSS chief is just a coincidence. Nothing beyond that.”
