Nagaland-Manipur economic blockade temporarily called off

Till a final resolution was found, the SAYO asked members of the Angami Naga community not to rent out houses or provide shelter to any member of the Mao community.

The indefinite economic blockade called against each other by the Southern Angami Youth Organisation (SAYO) in Nagaland and Mao Council (Manipur) that had affected life along the Nagaland-Manipur inter-state border has been temporarily called off at the intervention of the Angami Public Organisation (APO), Naga Hoho and United Naga Council (UNC).

Till a final resolution was found, the SAYO asked members of the Angami Naga community not to rent out houses or provide shelter to any member of the Mao community. Tension was building up between the Angamis (in Nagaland) and Maos (in Manipur) over the traditional community ownership of Dzukou Valley which is well within the political boundary of Nagaland.  ens
