Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi will be in Mumbai Friday to discuss organisational matters. City leaders hope he will help decide the new Mumbai Regional Congress Committee president. Differences within have delayed the appointment.
The post has been lying vacant for almost a year following the sacking of Kripashankar Singh,who is accused of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. Rahul will hold meetings at the state Congress headquarters,Tilak Bhavan,in Dadar. MPCC chief Manikrao Thakre said,The visit is part of ongoing programmes to strengthen the organisation across the country. Friday meet will focus on challenges ahead for the party.
