More than 1500 people have been diagnosed with tuberculosis in Mizoram this year.
But there has been a 91 percent successful treatment rate and 11 people have died from the disease, a high-level health meeting was told in Aizawl on Tuesday.
State TB officer Dr Vanlalhruaii said at a review meeting chaired by Health Services Director Dr Rohmingthanga Ralte that a total of 1562 people have been diagnosed with the illness between January and September this year, a figure which includes 10 multi-drug resistant TB patients.
Besides these, 42 people have been identified as those suffering from both TB and HIV.
In all, 7344 people have been examined for the disease in the same period, Dr Vanlalhruaii said.
