Mohammad Yasin the son-in-law of Congress MLA Mohd Sadique who was arrested on Monday for allegedly posing as a Mumbai Crime Branch officer using a fake ID was sent to one-day police remand on Tuesday. Police also raided his house in Payal.
In an apparent snub to Yasins family,PPCC president Partap Singh Bajwa refused to meet his sister Hasina Bano and mother Karante in Ludhiana on Tuesday. The duo waited for more than two hours in the hotel lobby where Bajwa was staying but the Congress chief directed them to meet him at the Punjab Congress Bhawan in Chandigarh.
The entire episode has happened because of Mohd Sadique. He himself had given the fake ID cards to my brother and now he is running away. He is the one who had got my brother framed and even the other leaders are also not helping us out, alleged Yasins sister Hasina Bano.
She further alleged that Yasin was not on good terms with Sadiques daughter and hence to settle score, the Congress MLA framed her brother. 0Meanwhile,Bajwa stated that he was not aware of the entire case and so called them to Chandigarh. He,however, had sent his close aide, former advocate Harpreet Sandhu,to meet Yasins family.
Sadique,on the other hand, distanced himself from the entire episode. Because I did not help my son-in-law,the family is levelling wrong allegations. Law is the same for all and I dont want to interfere in police functioning. It is a matter of shame that he was threatening people with a fake ID card and it does not behove an MLA to support such a person., the Congress legislator said.
