Modi to kick off BJP campaign in Telangana

Gujarat CM Narendra Modi will kick off BJP's campaign in Telangana region by addressing a public meeting at Karimnagar.

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will kick off the BJP’s campaign in Telangana region by addressing a public meeting at Karimnagar on Saturday. The State BJP unit is making all efforts to make Modi’s first public meeting at SRR Grounds,in this region,under the aegis of Telangana Sankalp Sabha.

State BJP president Bandaru Dattatraya,Former Union Minister Vidyasagar Rao,national secretary N. Indrasena Reddy,State general secretary K Laxman BJP Kisan Morcha State president P Sugunakar Rao,Karimnagar leader T. Harikumar Goud would be present with Modi.

“Modi is expected to reiterate L K Advani promise that separate Telangana state would be formed within 100 days of the NDA coming to power,and the appeasement policies of UPA government,” state vice-president G Rama Krishna Reddy said on Friday.

Venkiah Naidu is also expected to attend the public meeting. With preparations on since Thursday,Karimnagar has acquired a saffron hue with life-size cutouts and huge banners of BJP leaders put up all over the town. The public meeting is expected to start at 3 pm and the party is organizing a massive cultural show in the town starting with a rally which showcases various forms of Telangana arts.

Reddy has said that kiosks have been put up which illustrate the condition of Telangana’s farmers,weavers,and artisans at the venue.

Meanwhile,the BJP national secretary N. Indrasena Reddy criticized TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao for threatening Andhra entrepreneurs,businessmen and those running educational institutions in Telangana of sending them back after formation of Telangana state. KCR is MP from Karimnagar.

“KCR is blackmailing Andhra’s businessmen and entrepreneurs based in Telangana to collect party funds. He should apologise unconditionally for his utterances,” Reddy said,adding that the grand alliance of which TRS is a partner is actually an alliance of opportunist.
