Modi or anyone else,SAD with BJP: Sukhbir

Deputy Chief Minister and SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Thursday said his party will accept anyone selected by alliance partner BJP,as the NDA’s Prime Ministerial candidate.

Deputy Chief Minister and SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Thursday said his party will accept anyone selected by alliance partner BJP,as the NDA’s Prime Ministerial candidate.

“It doesn’t matter if it is Narendra Modi or someone else,SAD is completely with BJP in its choice for PM the candidate,” Sukhbir told mediapersons on the sidelines of a function organised by Punjab Colonisers and Property Dealers Association at Guru Nanak Bhawan here. He also exuded confidence that the SAD-BJP alliance will sweep next year’s Lok Sabha polls in Punjab.

Sukhbir also announced that a new policy for registration of new colonies will be operational within a month and the system will be completely online.

“I have already directed PUDA as well as the housing department to come out with an online portal before the first week of October to provide clearances like CLUs,map certification and others to carve out new colonies. From October,all such certifications will be provided online within a month after filing one files an application,” he added.

Sukhbir further said the government will spend another Rs 500 crore on ‘Mission Ludhiana’. With this,the budget for the project undertaken to give Ludhiana a facelift increased from Rs 2500 crore to Rs 3000 crore. “The full amount will be spent on the facelift of Ludhiana alone,” he said.

Two join sad

At a separate event in Sunder Nagar,a Congress leader from Ludhiana,Dimple Rana,joined SAD. State secretary of BSP,Jagdish Singh Jassowal,also joined the party. The exodus of Congress leaders proves the party has no future in Punjab,said Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal. Rana said: “I am quitting the party in disgust and to make it clear that I do not fit into the five-star culture of the Punjab Congress.”
