Vidhan Bhawan under-secretary Sayali Kamble, who was missing since Friday, presented herself Monday at Churchgate GRP police station, where her husband had registered a complaint.
Today, she presented herself. We have closed the case, said A G Kadam, senior inspector. It seems a marital dispute led her to leave home.
Earlier,GRP searched railway tracks and sent inquiries to all police stations. We even went to the residences of her superiors. Since she had been reported missing while at work,we needed to know her professional details, said Kadam.
Call data records showed she went from Mumbai to Thane and GRP sent search teams to both places. Kamble waited for the budget session of the Assembly to conclude on April 18,when government employees worked till late, before going to the house of a friend. She soon switched off her cell phone.
GRP have taken her statement and plan to send it to Kherwadi police station under whose jurisdiction the couple stay. Kamble reportedly told police she was living with a family friend and decided to surface after learning about her disappearance from the media. She allegedly decided to move out of her marital home following a family dispute. She alleged her businessman husband would repeatedly torture her even as the Assembly session was under way. He would allegedly call her at work and abuse her superiors,a GRP officer said.
