A 13-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and gangraped by four youths in Chhattisgarh’s Durg district, police said on Wednesday.
Two of the accused — Malkeet Singh (24) and Ravi Chouhan (19) — were arrested on Tuesday evening for allegedly raping the minor in Kohka area, SHO Jagdish Mishra said.
The two others involved in the crime have also been identified and a search is on to arrest them, he said.
On February 2, the victim — a Class VI student — was returning home from a nearby shop when the four accused riding on two motorbikes approached the girl and offered her a lift. They then took her to a nearby isolated place where Malkeet and Ravi sexually assaulted her, Mishra said, adding that the four accused then fled. On reaching home, the girl told her mother about the incident, but the latter refused to report the matter to police at that time.
However, a few days later she agreed to lodge a complaint, the police officer said.
