The Faridkot police has arrested eight more people for their alleged involvement in the September 24 minor kidnap case,taking the total number of those held to 11 on Wednesday.
A total of 13 persons are wanted in this case and we have eleven. The two left are Nishan Singhs mother Navjot Kaur and Dimpy Samra. With these arrests,we have a clear picture of how things unfolded and we also have some very vital clues on where Nishan could be at present but cannot divulge them as of now, IG Bathinda Zone,N S Dhillon said.
We have come to know from these people that they had tried to kidnap the girl on September 22 too when Rajwinder Singh alias Ghali and Nishan Singh had gone to her house. However that day no one opened the door and they had to abort the plan. They conducted a second recce and the finally kidnapped her on September 24, he added. Those arrested are residents of Faridkot and include Harpreet Singh alias Lucky,Sunny Ganja,Sahil Sekha,baby Sharma,Amna Gill,Amna Tyrewala,Amandeep Goldie and Gurdeep alias Raju Battar.
Police said all of them had helped Nishan kidnap the girl in June as well. This time round also they stood at various checkpoints and roads to ensure that the kidnapping went about smoothly,police added.
Meanwhile,it has also been learnt that 22-year-old Rajwiner Singh alias Ghali has some nine criminal cases against him,of which,three are for murder. Ghali had committed crimes with Varinder Sharma alias Dalla and Nishan Singh.
At the same time,Varinder Sharma who is undergoing medical aid at a hospital in Moga has claimed that Shruti went on her own. IG Dhillon when asked said: Dalla has been sent to judicial and we are not in touch with him. He can say anything but the fact is that the girl is minor and for us this is a case of kidnapping.
Meanwhile,the Goonagardi Virodhi Saanjhi action committee which met the Governor Punjab here on Wednesday has demanded CBI inquiry in the case.
