A 15-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped and bludgeoned to death near Vikarabad in Telangana’s Ranga Reddy district, about 70 km from Hyderabad, on Thursday night.
M Kamal was travelling on a motorcycle with his daughter to their village on the outskirts of Vikarabad. According to a complaint lodged by Kamal at Bantvaram police station, the father and daughter stopped to drink water near a borewell, and while they were drinking water, two persons came in an autorickshaw and dragged his daughter, who was waiting near the motorcycle on the road, away. When Kamal tried to chase them, two other persons arrived on a motorcycle and attacked him.
He said in his complaint that he fell unconcious on the road after being hit with a stone and was later awakened by a passer-by. Based on his complaint, Vikarabad division police launched a search for his missing daughter and found her body near a field not far from where she was picked.

Police are suspecting the involvement of an autorickshaw driver, who Kamal claimed in his complaint, was following him. Police is also looking into Kamal’s account of the incident as he has been giving different versions about it, police said.
