Man booked for Facebook comments against Anandiben

An Ahmedabad resident, who fought the last Lok Sabha elections as an Independent candidate against BJP’s Paresh Rawal and lost, was booked late Tuesday for allegedly posting objectionable comments on Facebook about CM Anandiben Patel and her family.

As per the complaint registered by one Akshay Bansi Patel, the accused, Roshan Shah, allegedly made a vulgar comment about her family member on August 2 on Facebook and posted several comments about the CM on August 24.

Crime Branch officials checked Shah’s Facebook and registered an FIR in this connection.

ACP Crime (Cyber Cell) K N Patel said, “Shah made comments about Anandiben’s family on August 2 and August 24. He posted several comments on August 24 about her and the government… We have got these comments deleted and also checked his profile thoroughly, where a lot of posts had been made about the CM and her work.”
