Lokayukta cops uncover illegal assets worth 14 crore from govt officials in Karnataka corruption raids

The Karnataka state Lokayukta police on Tuesday conducted corruption investigation related raids on 13 government servants including an IAS officer BM Vijaya Shankar to unearth illegal assets to the tune of over Rs 14 crores from them. The Lokayukta police raids which began on Tuesday morning were conducted at 36 premises in Bangalore, Bagalakoe, Bellary, Bidar, Chikkaballapur, Chickmagalur, Dharwad, Kalburgi, Koppal, Mandya, Mangalore, Shivamogga, Tumkur and Yadgir districts.

• BM Vijaya Shankar, IAS Bangalore:
  His total asset and expenditure was Rs 6.1 crore against an estimated income of Rs 3.15 crore.
• P Narayana Murthy, Deputy Secretary, BDA, Bangalore:
  His total asset and expenditure was found to be Rs 2.25 crore against an estimated income of Rs 71 lakh.
• Dr G Ramesh Babu, District Health officer, Bellary:
  His total asset and expenditure is Rs 2.28 crore against an estimated income of Rs 1.03 crore.
• Ashok Manikappa Akkanna Gortakar, FDA, Bidar:
  His total asset and expenditure is Rs1.11 crore and estimated income is Rs 22 lakh.
• SC Padmaraju, District Programming Officer, Chikkaballapur:
  His total asset and expenditure is Rs3.95 crore and estimated income is Rs 1.83 crore.
• Martanda Shivappa Badiger, Junior Assistant, KIADB, Dharwad:
  His total asset and expenditure is Rs1.37 crore and estimated income is Rs 51 lakh. .
• Kashinath Siddaramayya Bidarkar, AEE, KIADB, Kalburgi:
  His total asset and expenditure is Rs1.76 crore and estimated income is Rs 61 lakh.
• Laxmappa Bimappa Nilogal, Executive Director, Karntaka State Finance Corporation, Koppal:
  His total asset and expenditure is Rs 2.01 crore and estimated income is Rs 85 lakh.
• MS Sidde Gowda, Village Accountant, Mandya:
  His total asset and expenditure is Rs 65 lakh and estimated income is Rs 22 lakh.

  His total asset and expenditure is Rs 57 lakh and estimated income is Rs 20 lakh.

  His total asset and expenditure is Rs 85.9 lakh and estimated income is Rs 38 lakh.
• C Vijayakumar, Revenue Inspector, Shivamogga:
  His total asset and expenditure is Rs 65 lakh and estimated income is Rs 32.9 lakh.
