We (fishermen, farmers and local inhabitants of Jaitapur and surrounding areas),have come to know NPCIL and Government of India are going to negotiate with French as well as European bankers on loan terms for financing the project. We further understand that to allay concerns of bankers as well as French company,Areva…They are trying best to delude you in order to make you agreeable and secure loan finance for this mega disaster project, says letter, signed by several villagers. The letter says that opposition of locals against the project is total and will not be subdued by any means. We urge you not to buckle to the cheap tactics of NPCIL or the Indian government and extend any loan to this project, the letter says.
