On day 2 of Narendra Modi’s maiden visit to Bangledesh, the prime minister began his day with a visit to the Dhakeshwari Temple in Dhaka. He arrived at the temple to the sound of drum beats and offered prayers. PM Modi latter on recieved the Bangladesh Liberation War Honour on behalf of Atal Bihari Vajpayee for his efforts in supporting Bangladesh during war. The prime minister will later address a select gathering of Indians living in Bangaldesh before taking the flight to Delhi.

7. 35 pm: Prime Minister thanks Bangladesh for their welcome and wishes that he can visit the country again and see Naukhali to take a tour to Mahatma Gandhi’s museum. While ending his sppech in Bengali, he quotes “Abaar ashibo phire”

7.25 pm: Prime Minister Narendra Modi says India and Bangladesh have same kind of thinking, both coutries are focused on all round development.

7.15 pm: Prime Minister Narendra Modi talks about India’s permanent seat in the UNSC. Says it’s strange that 1/6 population of the world is Indian, yet we have to pled for the seat.

7.10 pm: Calls for support from Bangladesh to fight terrorism and thanks Bangladesh PM Hasina’s zero tolerance against terrorism.

7.00 pm: Prime Minister Narendra Modi pitches for equality in trade relations with Bangladesh, says, trust is the very important to boost ties.

6.55 pm: Prime Minister Narendra Modi calls for a united SAARC nations.

6: 30 pm: Prime Minister starts addressing Indian community in Bangladesh. Greets everyone in Bengali.

6.05 pm: Prime Minister Narendra Modi attends cultural programme at Bangabandhu International Conference Center. Will address Indian community in Bangladesh shortly.

3.20 pm: Former Bangladesh Prime Minister and BNP chief Khaleda Zia meets PM Modi.

3.15 pm: BNP chief Khaleda Zia is also expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi soon.

3.10 pm: Prime Minister Narendra Modi meets Bangladesh’s Leader of Oppsition, Begum Raushan Ershad to strengthen political ties. He met with the leaders of Bangladesh’s Left parties too.

2.50 pm: Prime Minister Narendra Modi meets Presidents of leading Chambers Of Commerce and Industry in Bangladesh to strengthen business ties between India and Bangladesh.

12. 50 pm: Modi recieves the Bangladesh Liberation War Honour on behalf of Vajpayee.
