An advocate allegedly beat up a constable in Outer Delhi’s Sultanpuri area on Monday night. The scuffle began when the constable asked the advocate to move his car from the service lane in Block D4,as it may inconvenience the residents.

However, the advocate, identified as Raghunath Pawar, alleged that the constable was drunk and slapped him while he tried to park his car in the area, after which he retaliated.

According to police, the constable, identified as Rajesh, asked Pawar to park his vehicle somewhere else, which enraged him. Pawar started to argue with the constable, and also called his associates, including the MLA of Sultanpuri,Jai Kishan. As Rajesh threatened to tow Pawar’s car,he got even more angry and started to beat him up,police said.

A police officer said,“Pawar, along with his associates, started to punch the constable on his nose and tore his uniform.”

Rajesh sustained a fracture in the nose, and was taken to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital.
