The Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court will start hearing the appeals filed by convicts in the infamous Khairlanji Dalit killing case from August 24.
A division bench of Justices A P Lavande and P B Vairale would conduct the hearing.
On September 24 last year, the Bhandara trial court had convicted eight persons for killing four members of Bhotmange family. Three persons were acquitted in the case for lack of evidence.
While two of the convicts were awarded death sentence, six were given capital punishment.
However,as per law, death sentence given by lower court has to be approved by a High Court.
The CBI has also filed an appeal seeking reversal of acquittal of the trio.
The High Court has asked the CBI to prepare a detailed chart mentioning role of each of the accused in the case along with details of charges framed against them and supporting evidences produced before the trial court.
The CBI,during the hearing yesterday, said all the accused were convicted for same crime and hence deserve the same punishment.
