Congress Government in Kerala on Wednesday decided to examine the accounts of the national games in the wake of allegations about mismanagement of fund.
After the cabinet meeting Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said the local audit department would be asked to examine the accounts within 45 days once the national game is over. Ongoing 35th edition of the games would end on February 14.
Chandy said the audit department would examine all aspects of the conduct of the games. The budget for the national games was fixed in 2011. The government has managed to confine the expenditures of the games held in 2015 as per the cost prepared in 2011. The valedictory function would be held as per the schedule, without any trimming of the events, he said.
