Kashmir: Two cops killed as militants open fire at police vehicle

So far no militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Two policemen were on Monday killed when suspected militants opened fire at their vehicle outside a court in Pulwama district of Kashmir.

According the police, the suspected militants opened fire at a police vehicle parked outside a court in Pulwama town, 35 kms from here.

Special Police Officers Khursheed Ahmad and Mukhtar Ahmad were seriously injured and rushed to a nearby hospital where they succumbed, police said.

Two civilians were also hurt during the incident which sparked panic in the busy area.

The area was cordoned off and a hunt has been launched to nab the militants responsible for the incident.

So far no militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the attack.
