Alleging a “naked dance of corruption in the Lutyen’s Zone under the very nose of the government,” Janata Dal(United) president Sharad Yadav here on Friday demanded immediate suspension of CBI Director Ranjit Sinha for meeting those under the probe agency’s scanner.
“Take an immediate action against Sinha,” Yadav pleaded with the government and the judiciary. When asked if he wanted Sinha to be arrested, Yadav said, “I want action. It is for the government to see what action is possible under the law.” The government, he argued, could not wash its hands of the matter by saying that it was for the apex court to act.
He said that going by the long list of regular visitors to Sinha’s house, “It appears that the criminals are making a beeline…”. “What one sees is not just appalling, but also unprecedented,” Yadav said, contending that no CBI director before Sinha had the audacity to meet accused persons at this scale. He also claimed to be in possession of documents substantiating allegations against Sinha and offered to share th-em with any government age-ncy mandated to investigate.
