Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Tuesday slapped a criminal defamation complaint against news portal rediff.com for carrying a report about her health status last Friday.

Stating that the report published was “contrary to truth”, the complaint said the report titled — “Chennai media knew Jayalalithaa’s health is not fine, but kept mum” — was written with a malafide intention to tarnish her image.
