India mapped: States where you can order a beef steak for lunch

Maharashtra has raised the "beef" stakes by becoming the first Indian state to ban consumption and sale of beef.

The Maharashtra state government has raised the “beef” stakes by becoming the first Indian state to ban consumption and sale of beef. The state will impose a fine of Rs 10,000 and jail sentence of five years on the wrongdoers. However, it is not the same for their bovine brothers and sisters in other states.
