Hyderabad Police today arrested a Special Protection Force (SPF) constable R Ramakrishna for allegedly murdering his wife last month, suspecting that she was having an affair with a childhood friend. The SPF constable of Telangana Police, had lodged a complaint on August 14 at Naryanaguda Police Station stating that this wife Supriya was missing.
Considering that he is a cop, Narayanaguda Police officials launched a search thinking that she may have gone off to her parents house in Nizamabad after an altercation with her husband.
The police discovered that two text messages were sent from Supriya’s mobile phone to Ramakrishna stating that she was going to her parents’ house because she was unhappy with him.
However, call data records revealed that she has never left her house in Himayatnagar in Hyderabad.
After two days of intense interrogation, Ramakrishna revealed that he strangled his wife suspecting that she was having an affair with a childhood friend.
“He called his friend Pradeep to help dispose off the body and they both cut the body into pieces, stuffed them into a large suitcase and carried it on a motorcycle 70 kms from Hyderabad to a spot in Anantagiri hills. They dug a pit there and dumped the body, poured kerosene and set it on fire. After that they buried the remains there,” DCP Central Zone V B Kamalasan Reddy said.
The police today exhumed the remains of the constable’s wife after obtaining a court order and after conducting the necessary formalities handed over the remains to her parents for a proper funeral.
