HC reserves order on Virbhadra I-T returns case

Mansoor Ahmad Mir and Tarlok Singh Chauhan heard the arguments against the petition and reserved orders for the next hearing.

Himachal Pradesh High Court on Wednesday reserved its orders in the income tax returns case against Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and his three family members, including wife Pratibha Singh, a former MP, after hearing the preliminary objections filed by the IT department against CM’s plea opposing transfer of investigations to Chandigarh.

Earlier on August 4, the High Court had stayed the transfer orders passed by commissioner of income tax, Shimla, to entrust investigations to Chandigarh circle instead of Shimla — where the case was earlier pending.

On Wednesday, a division bench comprising Chief Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir and Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan heard the arguments against the petition and reserved orders for the next hearing.
