Haryana DGP asks people to cooperate

The Haryana Director General of Police,S N Vashist,has appealed to the people,especially women,girls and their guardians to reach out to police for help if anyone tries to sexually harasses them or passes leud remarks.

Chandigarh: The Haryana Director General of Police,S N Vashist,has appealed to the people,especially women,girls and their guardians to reach out to police for help if anyone tries to sexually harasses them or passes leud remarks. “A women helpline number 1091 and women PCR has already been started to ensure quick police assistance,” Vashist said. Referring to two recent incidents wherein young girls,who were sexually harassed and consequently committed suicide in Yamunanagar and Hisar,the DGP claimed that had the victims or their parents approached the police on time,their lives could have been saved.

Brother,sister duo drown in pond

Amritsar: Two siblings died Monday after they accidentally fell into a pond while playing near their house in Sheikh Bhatti village of Amritsar. Priya (6) and her brother Jashandeep (4) died after falling into a 10-foot deep pond. Ajnala SHO Ravinder Singh said: “A villager rushed to rescue the kids and managed to took out Jashandeep. He was rushed to the hospital,but he did not survive.”
