A day after Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda launched an attack on his party detractors, mostly aimed at Gurgaon MP Rao Inderjit, the latter Friday dared the CM to expose him (Inderjit).
The Chief Minister has alleged that I have a hidden agenda, which he will expose later. I request him not to wait, but expose me now if I have done anything wrong, Inderjit told The Indian Express.
During a rally at Rewari Thursday,Hooda had announced that he would expose what my friend Inderjit wanted from him at an appropriate time.
It is sad that the Chief Minister has cast personal aspersions on me. My fight with him is issue based and not personal. He was trying to give it a personal colour in order to divert attention. My opposition to Hooda began in 2006 when I was a Union Minister and it is for the welfare of the state, Inderjit added.
Inderjit had remained at the receiving end of attacks by Hooda loyalists, but it was for the first time that the CM himself launched a veiled attack on the Gurgaon MP. My responsibility is to the state and not to any individual. I am doing my duty for the overall development of the state, Hooda had said during the rally.
Inderjit accused Hoodas supporters of calling him a desh drohi (traitor). Stooping to innuendos and personal attacks only reflects his (Hoodas) inability and frustration to convince the public about the issues, which I have been raising for the past few years. I come from a family of freedom fighters and to be called a desh drohi is a personal insult to me,my family,my ancestors and all those who took part in the freedom struggle, Inderjit said.
However,Hoodas supporters said that it was Inderjit who was first to launch personal attacks accusing the CM of promoting his son and family and not the party.
Party sources said that the issue will be officially reported to the Congress high command.
Party vice-president Rahul Gandhi and state Congress chief Phool Chand Mullana had already urged the leaders not to go public with their differences.
