The Gujarat High Court on Thursday reserved its order on a petition moved by self-styled godman Asaram Bapu’s son,Narayan Sai,challenging a Non-Bailable Warrant issued against him by a court in Surat.

The court presided over by Justice H N Devani has posted the matter for dictation of order on December 2.

A Surat-based woman has lodged a rape complaint against Sai,on October 6,alleging that he had raped her in 2003 at his Jehangirpura ashram in Surat. Ever since registration of the FIR, Sai has not responded to the warrants issued by police and has gone underground. He also moved anticipatory bail which was rejected by a concerned court in Surat.

Meanwhile,a concerned magisterial court of Surat has issued a non bailable warrant (NBW) against him. The NBW was issued against Sai after he did not respond to the bailable warrant issued against him.

Sai has challenged the NBW through his advocate,Jal Unwalla, while contending that the order of issuing NBW had frustrated his right to secure anticipatory bail against arrest by police.
