Four youths,including two borthers,were arrested in the capital on Wednesday for allegedly abducting and raping a 20-year-old computer teacher after a scuffle with her colleague.
The girl was going back home on Monday evening when she was forcibly taken away allegedly by the men and raped near a railway track in Sultanpuri. She was left by the men near the track after the assault,Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Sharad Aggarwal said in New Delhi.
The arrested persons were identified as Rama (20),his brother Harish (22),Nirnanjan (20) and Dilip (23). The victim along with one of her colleague Satya Parkash was going to her residence in Arvind Enclave,Nangloi when the incident took place.
“There they were intercepted by three men who dragged her across to the tracks. She was sexually assaulted by two persons,” Aggarwal said. The arrest came following the description given Parkash.
Niranjan and Dilip were arrested first and their questioning led to the arrest of two others Rama and Harish.
Harish,who is married and has a six-month-old child,went to a liquor shop along with Dilip on Monday evening where they met the others and consumed alcohol.
“While returning,they saw the girl and Parkash walking. Taking advantage of darkness and the deserted stretch,one of the accused started assaulting the man and forced him to flee from the spot,” Aggarwal said.
