Hema Malini has invited some 25 Bollywood actors including the Bachchan family for her Mathura Mahotsav, a cultural festival in her Lok Sabha constituency, to raise funds for farmers who have lost crops in unseasonal rains and hailstorms.
The actor-turned-politician met the Prime Minister Wednesday to discuss the two-day festival.
“It will be in Vrindavan, Mathura, on April 25 and 26. It was initially meant to be a tourism festival but since farmers are suffering after the crop losses, I have decided to collect funds to help them,” she told The Indian Express. “It will be entirely an entertainment programme. Star Plus has got the rights and it will be telecast across the world.”
