The application process for the examinations was also conducted online. Around 18 lakh candidates have applied for the vacant posts.
The examinations are being conducted in 242 cities across the country including far-off locations in North-East and Jammu and Kashmir.
Railways said the online format is expected to enhance objectivity, transparency and credibility of Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) examinations significantly.
The online system is user-friendly and fool-proof. The system allows a candidate to navigate from one question to another with utmost ease and can also be read/attempted in the respective regional languages.
