A day after Revenue and Public Relations Minister Bikram Singh Majithia took a dig at state Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa by saying that he had not risen from the level of a district president and thus, has a limited vision,Bajwa’s younger brother and Congress general secretary Fateh Jung Singh Bajwa on Sunday claimed Majithia was not a minister for the whole state but only for Majitha.

“A scrutiny of statistics for the last six years shows that while hundreds of crores were spent on development works in Majitha constituency, the government did not release even Rs 26 crore for the neighbouring constituencies,” Fateh Jung said.

While raising questions over the functioning of the revenue department,he added: “Before saying anything against the Congress,Majithia should keep his family’s past in mind. His family was associated with the Congress and enjoyed power for five decades.”

“He is levelling allegations of step motherly treatment by the Centre. How come Majithia forgot that his grandfather Surjit Singh Majithia was the Ambassador to Nepal during the Jawaharlal Nehru government and represented Punjab as an MP from 1952 and 1962. He also held the portfolio of the deputy defense minister… The childish statements, knowingly or unknowingly, have put his respectable grandfather in the queue of guilty,” Fateh Jung said.
