Ex-minister’s son in Rs 7-cr divorce settlement
In what could arguably be the biggest divorce settlement in the country in recent times,the Delhi High Courts Mediation and Conciliation Centre has cleared payment of nearly Rs 7.10 crore as full and final settlement to the wife of a leading businessman.

When Puneet Bagrodia and Sunita Jalan got married in December 2009,their wedding,a grand affair,made news for its scale.
Two years later,Puneet,son of businessman-politician Santosh Bagrodia who was Coal Minister in UPA-I,and Sunita signed a divorce settlement on February 6 in the presence of mediator/conciliator Aradhana Ramachandran after nine comprehensive mediation settlements since September 24,2011.
Both sides have agreed to dissolve the marriage through mutual consent. According to the settlement,Sunita has already been paid Rs 10 lakh following the order of the Delhi High Court on September 16,2011. She will also get Rs 50 lakh when she records her statement in the divorce petition along with Puneet.
Puneet will have to deposit a fixed deposit receipt of
Rs 3 crore. It will be released to Sunita at the time of recording of statement of the second motion.
