Durga Shakti’s husband suspended for ‘misbehaving’

The teacher, who was assigned the job of a Booth Level Officer, was reportedly absent from duty.

The UP government Saturday suspended IAS officer Abhishek Singh, the husband of Durga Shakti Nagpal whose suspension as SDM had triggered a row, after he allegedly misbehaved with a government school teacher, asking him to do sit-ups at his office in Mathura district.

The teacher, who was assigned the job of a Booth Level Officer, was reportedly absent from duty.

Principal Secretary (Information) Navneet Sehgal confirmed the suspension. Abhishek Singh is a 2011 batch officer and currently posted as Sub-Divisional Magistrate at Mahavan area in Mathura district. “I have nothing to say on the matter. It will be clear after enquiry,” Abhishek Singh told The Sunday Express.
