Death toll in cyclone Hudhud rises to 26 in Andhra Pradesh

The maximum number of 16 deaths in various rain-related incidents are reported from the worst-hit Visakhapatnam.

The death toll in the devastating cyclone ‘hudhud’ rose to 26 today with the report of one more death in the cyclone-hit Andhra Pradesh while over 1.35 lakh people are rehabilitated in the relief camps set up by the state government.

The maximum number of 16 deaths in various rain-related incidents are reported from the worst-hit Visakhapatnam.

In neighbouring Vizianagaram districts eight people were killed and two others died in Srikakulam district, the state disaster management department said in a statement.

It said more than 1.35 lakh people are rehabilitated in the relief camps and 6,85,000 people are provided food in the camps, the statement said.
