Moments after state Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa launched country’s first toll free helpline offering free legal aid to Congressmen “suffering victimisation in the hands of the ruling SAD-BJP combine”,Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Wednesday said Congress’ propaganda that SAD was indulging in politics of vendetta stands exposed,as during the last six years,it had failed to come up a single case to prove its charge. Speaking to mediapersons after inaugurating a slew of projects worth Rs 152 crore in Fazilka district,Sukhbir said: “During the last five years,Captain Amarinder Singh had kept on ranting about 50,000 vendetta cases against Congress workers. But he failed to pin-point a single case in the Assembly. Taking a leaf out of Captain’s diary, the newly installed PPCC president was repeating the same slogan to get few sound bytes.” Asked about the “toll free” number launched by Congress to register such complaints,Sukhbir said: “If the whole machinery of the Congress had failed to collect a single case, the toll free number confirms that either the worker set-up of Congress at the grass-root level was fully dysfunctional or the party was not in touch with them. Thus, forcing the party to rely on the toll free number to speak to their workers.”
