Two days after elected representatives took the civic administration to task for delay in distribution of uniforms and study material to students of civic schools,an elected representative on Wednesday found uniforms,sweaters and shoes dumped in a room in Shivajinagar.
After a visit to the area,I found that around 5,000 uniforms meant for students of civic schools were dumped in a room. Hence,the additional municipal commissioner was summoned to the spot and was handed over the items, said MNS corporator Raju Pawar.
Additional municipal commissioner Naresh Zurmure visited the location and directed the staff to seal the room so that an inquiry can be conducted.
On Monday,elected representatives had taken the civic adminisration to task for civic schools poor quality of education and infrastructure. The delay in distribution of uniforms and study material had made the MNS and other Opposition parties demand action against officials of the education department.
Zurmure said the PMC would conduct a survey of 306 civic schools to ascertain the standard of infrastructure.
