BSP takes lead,names candidates for four Lok Sabha seats

The Bahujan Samaj Party Saturday announced candidates for four out of 13 parliamentary seats in Punjab ahead of the general elections scheduled next year and also ruled out forging any alliance in the state.

The Bahujan Samaj Party Saturday announced candidates for four out of 13 parliamentary seats in Punjab ahead of the general elections scheduled next year and also ruled out forging any alliance in the state.

“The party will be fielding Bhagwan Singh Chouhan from Hoshiarpur,Ram Kumar Prajapati from Ferozepur,Jarnail Singh Kamboj from Patiala and Sucha Singh Mann from Khadoor Sahib,” party national general secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Narendar Kashyap said.

Among the four candidates,two are from the SC and as many from the backward class,he added.

“We are expecting early Lok Sabha polls and that is why we have started gearing up for the same. We will be fielding our own candidates on all the 13 seats in the state,” Kashyap said,exuding confidence that the party will win some seats.

BSP is the first party in the state to announce its candidates for the polls. Till now the party has not won any Lok Sabha or Vidhan Sabha seat in the state.
