A BSF personnel was killed when Pakistani troops opened fire on Indian pickets in North Kashmir’s Nowgam sector on Thursday.
Officials said the firing occurred around afternoon when Krishna Kumar Dubey, a BSF constable from Jharkhand, posted in the Karam post collapsed after being hit in his right eye by a bullet. They added that Indian troops retaliated by firing heavy weapons in which some casualties were reported from the other side of LoC. The firing continued for half an hour, they said. Tension has been brewing in the Nowgam sector ever since Pakistani troops resorted to firing, killing a BSF personnel on July 5.
