Bus conductor thrashed by Youth Akali Dal leaders
HOSHIARPUR:A case has been registered against two persons in Tanda district of Hoshiarpur after a bus conductor was allegedly beaten up by Youth Akali Dal leaders on Saturday. A case has been registered against Kulwant Singh and Raminder Singh under kidnapping,wrongful restraint and confinement charges. However,they were later released. The victim,Jagtar Singh of Gambhowal,told media persons that he had been forcibly taken out of a bus by Youth Akali Dal general secretary and son of senior SAD leader and his men and thrown into one of their vehicles. The victim alleged that he was beaten up by 6-7 persons on the way.
Will give 60% seats to youth: TMC
PANIPAT:Member of Parliament and incharge Trinamool Congress (North Zone),Dr K D Singh,called upon the youth of Haryana to come forward to build a new Haryana devoid of unemployment and frustration. He said his party would give 60 percent of the assembly tickets to youth to fullfill their aspirations. Singh was addressing a rally at Sanauli village near Panipat. He also claimed that once TMC comes to the power it would provide free electricity to farmers.
3 held for army recruitment scam
FEROZEPUR:In a joint operation by Ferozepur police and Military Intelligence (MI),three persons,allegedly involved in army recruitment scam,were arrested on Sunday. They used to act as touts for getting candidates cleared in written exam and later allured them to provide them jobs in the Army. The accused used to charge Rs1.5 lakh to Rs 3 lakh. About 35 candidates have been identified from whom they had taken money. Another accused is yet to be arrested.
