Former Governor Urmila Singh’s stand against prosecution of former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal in a case related to withdrawal of resignation of former IPS officer A N Sharma by the previous BJP regime has given the opposition a new weapon to hit back the Congress government in the state.
“Observations of the former Governor suggest that certain officers misrepresented the facts and fabricated the evidence. I have given all records to the agency showing that there was no illegality or break in my service. It’s a fact that I had applied for voluntary retirement (this was not compulsory a retirement),” said Sharma.
Dhumal too appreciated former Governor Urmila Singh and recalled that he enjoyed excellent working relations with her.
“If media reports about her last action are true, she has really taken pragmatic stand refusing to come under pressures to prosecute opposition politicians,” said Dhumal.
