BJP demands CBI inquiry into murder of witness in Asaram case

Asaram is currently lodged in a Rajasthan jail in connection with another rape case.

BJP activists here staged a demonstration demanding CBI inquiry into the murder of a witness in a rape case against Asaram Bapu. Hundreds of BJP workers led by vice-president of party unit here, Sarita Gore, took out a procession on Monday and submitted a memorandum to the city Magistrate demanding CBI inquiry into the case.

They alleged that the local police have not arrested anyone in this connection yet. Akhil Gupta, a witness in a rape case against controversial self-styled godman Asaram Bapu, was shot dead on January 11 this year.
