A peculiar situation prevailed in the Himachal Assembly on Wednesday when the House voted for three bills seeking amendments in the Private Universities Act to raise minimum period for dissolution of any private university to 50 years,instead of 25.

A peculiar situation prevailed in the Himachal Assembly on Wednesday when the House voted for three bills seeking amendments in the Private Universities Act to raise minimum period for dissolution of any private university to 50 years,instead of 25. Except one bill,the three others earlier tabled were passed without Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh even moving these for voting. “Practically none of the bills will stand judicial scrutiny as the CM did not rise to move the bills for voting,except for the first one,” BJP chief whip Suresh Bhardwaj said.
