Bhiwani man suspects illicit relationship,shoots dead wife,her sister’s husband

In a suspected honour killing,a man shot dead his wife and her sister’s husband in Bhiwani Thursday suspecting duo of being in an illicit relationship,police said.

Chandigarh: In a suspected honour killing,a man shot dead his wife and her sister’s husband in Bhiwani Thursday suspecting duo of being in an illicit relationship,police said.

Sandeep,a security guard at jailed former Haryana minister Gopal Kanda’s petrol pump,shot dead Anil outside the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Bhiwani at point blank range using his licenced revolver hours after killing his wife of four years Shoba at their residence in Mansawas village of the district.

He was arrested by the security staff present at the DC’s office.

As per the police,Sandeep suspected his wife Shobha of having illicit relations with Anil,who is married to Shobha’s sister and stays in the same village. He was employed at a school as a clerk. The preliminary investigations revealed that he had earlier caught Shobha and Anil talking on phone on several occasions and had warned her of dire consequences. On Thursday morning,he again caught her talking to Anil and thrashed her mercilessly. He later tied her hands and feet with a rope and then shot her pointblank on the forehead,killing her instantly,police said.

He then locked the house and called Anil to the District Courts complex in Bhiwani. Sandeep told Anil that he required his help with some legal work. Sandeep met him outside the Deputy Commissioner’s office,located in the same complex,and after a brief exchange of words pulled out his revolver and shot him in the head. Anil died on the spot.

The incident took place in public and was witnessed by many people.

The security staff deployed at the courts complex rushed to spot after hearing the gunshot and nabbed Sandeep,police said.

Inspector Shripal Singh,Station House Officer,Mandhana police station,said,“Both the murders were committed by Sandeep,who has been arrested. He is being interrogated to ascertain more facts. The bodies have been kept in the hospital mortuary for post mortem.”

Meanwhile,Shobha’s brother,Kuldeep,on whose statement a case was registered against Sandeep,told the police that his sister wanted to study further to which Sandeep used to object. He added that Anil was guiding Shobha in getting admitted to some higher courses,which was not acceptable to Sandeep and he started suspecting her.

Woman,daughter ‘kill’ self in Jind

Jind: A mother-daughter duo allegedly committed suicide Thursday by consuming some posinous substance at Kinana village of Jind district. The bodies of Roshni (45) and her daughter Paramjit (23) were found by their neighbours,police said,adding preliminary investigations revealed that two had a heated argument in the morning. The exact cause of death may be revealed after postmortem,police said.

Duo burn alive sister-in-law for property

Sonepat: Haryana Police Thursday arrested two brothers for allegedly murdering their sister-in-law,a widow,over a property dispute. Bhagwan and Ramesh reportedly burnt alive Bhulo Devi,the widow of their elder brother Balraj on May 4 in Sonepat’s Silana village,police said. The neighbours rushed had got her admitted to a local hospital,where she succumbed to burn injuries late Wednesday. Both the accused have been booked on charges of murder and arrested.
