The Bombay High Court on Thursday issued a bailable arrest warrant against Principle Secretary, public health department, for showing absenteeism despite being asked by HC repeatedly.
The HC had directed the state government to suspend its order terminating 600 ayurvedic practitioners who participated in a state-wide strike in July. However, the HC was informed that the state had challenged HC’s order in Supreme Court.
The HC wanted to know why was its order not implemented and had asked the Principal Secretary Sujata Sounik to remain present, first on August 26 and then on August 27.
