State Congress chief Partap Singh Bajwa on Wednesday slammed the Badals for their alleged double standards on the issue of Khalistan terrorist Devinderpal Singh Bhullar’s hanging.

Referring to the 2009 affidavit filed by the Punjab government in the Supreme Court labelling Bhullar as a terrorist,Bajwa said: “Now,they are demanding clemency for Bhullar… There is no unity of thought between the Akalis and the BJP over the issue.”

Demanding immediate resignation of Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, the Congress chief said: “If Sukhbir cannot to get time out of his business deals in Delhi,he should hand over the responsibility to someone else. If he has even an ounce of self esteem left,he should resign immediately.”

Taking a dig at the SAD chintan shivir held in Goa,Bajwa said Badals “have no chinta (concern) for Punjab”. “Courtesy the deputy chief minister, there is complete lawlessness in the state.”

Ridiculing the claims made by Sukhbir of providing a police helpline to the people,Bajwa said the incumbent government is “insensitive” towards women.

Terming the attitude of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal towards Punjabis are “highly regrettable”,he said: “Despite having been chosen the chief minister for five times, the senior Badal has done nothing.”
