The drama unfolding in the wake of alleged kidnapping and rescue of the 16-year-old Faridkot girl continued on Thursday with the teenager, currently house in the Nari Niketan at Jalandhar, refusing to meet any of her family members.
After much persuasion, she met her mother only to tell her that she will meet the other family members in a day or two. She did not meet her father, sister and an uncle who had also come to the Nari Niketan. “An attendant was sent to the girl to inform her that her parents had come to meet her but she refused saying she will meet them after two to three days,” a Nari Niketan official said, adding that police officials later persuaded her to change her mind.
“After much persuasion,we could get her ready to meet at least her mother,” ADCP (Headquarters) N S Mahal said, adding that the meeting lasted just a few minutes. However, the girl’s father claimed that others could not interact with her as only one of them was permitted to meet the girl.
