The death toll in aftershocks in Bihar has risen to 21, while 84 people have been injured.
Patna, East Champaran, Madhepura and Purnia districts reported three deaths each, while Darbhanga, Vaishali and Siwan reported two deaths each. Sitamarhi, Khagaria and Sheikhpura districts reported one death each. Most deaths were because of wall collapse and stampede during the quake, while some died of heart attack.
The disaster management department control room said that as Purnia suffered from cyclonic winds and rains alongside tremors, it had no break-up of how the people got injured.
Meanwhile, all schools were closed for summer vacation from Wednesday. The government has directed schools to open a week ahead of the scheduled summer vacation.
