Asiya Andrabi’s detention under PSA quashed in J-K

Jammu and Kashmir High Court on Thursday quashed the detention under Public Safety Act of Asiya Andrabi,the leader of radical women’s outfit in the Valley – Dukhtaran-e-Millat.

Justice F M Ibrahim Kalifulla while quashing Andrabi’s detention directed the state government to release her if she was not wanted in any other case.

The chief of Dukhtaran-e-Millat (daughters of the nation) was arrested in August last year for allegedly spearheading the protests alongwith hardline Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani and his close associate Masarat Alam.
