In a reprieve for the yoga guru, the Supreme Court Friday stayed all coercive proceedings against Baba Ramdev in different parts of the country for his controversial “honeymoon” remarks targeting Rahul Gandhi over visiting homes of Dalits.

A bench led by Chief Justice of India R M Lodha also issued notices to the police departments in all states where FIRs have been lodged against Ramdev over his controversial utterances.

While clarifying it was not making any opinion on the merits of the case at this stage, the bench also asked Ramdev to deposit Rs 10 lakh in the court registry to bear the cost of transfer of all case records to one place.
