Announcing his decision to launch a ‘padyatra’ from Wardha, Maharashtra, to the national capital to protest against the NDA government’s Land Acquisition (Amendment) Bill, social activist Anna Hazare on Friday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was “allergic” to his name and hence, is unlikely to call him for any talks.

Hazare said his nearly three-month long padyatra from Maharashtra’s Wardha to Delhi would culminate in a “jail bharo andolan” in the capital. “There will be a meeting on March 9 at Sevagram which will be attended by all like-minded activists from across the country. There we will finalise our future course of action, including the date of launching the padyatra,” he said, adding he will not involve any political parties in the movement.
